Our Insider Circle class and the “In a Box” program are now over. It is such a worthwhile project bringing horses and humans together in a deeper bond from winning respect through allowing the relationship to grow naturally. I also focused on having the class develop a deeper understanding of horses from Sharing Territory with a horse in a way that fosters friendship, cooperation, and intimacy. The interactions that occur around Sharing Territory bring about a magical communication with a horse.
Mark is leaving up the Youtube videos and the questions section for a while, and we can still stay in touch with one another on my blog.
Going forward, I would like the class to communicate with one another on my blog on topics about the Waterhole Rituals and the relationship and communication that is developing with their horses, as well as any New Horse and/or New Human sightings!
The other day, I saw a man sitting with his horse in a field in a chair reading a newspaper, that is and example of a New Human sighting.
Please, feel free to stay connected through my blog, so we can still share with the world our everyday experiences with … Read more

Hi. I’m delighted to tell you about another workshop on my Method that’s taking place in September near Santa Rosa, about an hour and half north of San Francisco. The workshop features my dear friend and long time student, Robin Gates.
I’ve known Robin for more years that either of us would care to mention and I am really proud to have her represent my work, she is a phenomenal horsewoman. If you are anywhere near northern California in early September, I really recommend you go along to the clinic, especially if you can’t get down to me. If you want to bring your own horse, you’d better get in touch quickly as I know she only has a limited number of those places available. I personally love to watch Robyn at work and so even if you only go along to audit, I know you will benefit hugely from seeing Robin in action. If you never seen her train before, I can guarantee it will be beyond your expectations.
Details of how to book are on the flyer below, which you can see in a larger size if you click on it.
For those of you in the Insider … Read more

As you all know, I am working full time on my next book. Right now, my focus is on compiling the rules and guidelines to follow when using my method.

Rules and guidelines are what makes any method functional. It is all about the dos and don’ts in how to approach a horse. Following the rules judiciously is what creates the success of any method, not just following the rules.
Here are some of my suggested rules and guidelines:
- Wait for the horse to come to you and want to interact before interacting with him; or wait until you feel the bond is mutually shared in the moment.
- Never work a horse in a place he is not comfortable in.
- Never ask for anything until your horse is feeling safe, secure, and willing.
- If you lose willingness, change your approach, and focus on returning the willingness and relaxation.
- When using tack, when a horse resists or pulls, release the contact.
- When using tack, do not pull against resistance, unless you are using it in the Uberstreichen Exercises in a relaxed, benign manner.
- When your horse walks away from you, you walk in the opposite direction, to accommodate his needs.
- Likewise,

Hello. Work is progressing well with my book and we are aiming to have it finished by the beginning of December. I’m very excited about it. We have been taking some wonderful photos for it so it will be more like a coffee table book. I will also be discussing horse and herd behavior and how it relates to our lives and society, so I’m sure you’re going to love it.
OK, on to today’s blog post and I’d like to share with you a little more from the Insider Circle. So one of my students asked:
I am working with a horse who really isn’t a perfect candidate for this. She is complicated and I knew that from the get-go….she is a Marilynne. She is the only horse accessible to me and I wanted to learn what you had to teach so that I would grow and be able to work with her as she heals. We are in the beginning stages of sharing territory and saying hello. She is learning to love both of these rituals.
I am still pondering how to help her overcome her fear of the reed. The look in her eyes when she sees

This picture I posted on Facebook shows an advanced horse trained at liberty performing piaffe. The piaffe was achieved without tack, in a free, open environment. After the horse has a strong foundation with all seven of the Waterhole Rituals, I start with this kind of work. I will show you how to begin working with a horse to achieve this movement in connection.

At this level of training, the horse will work in the arena at high speed and maintain that speed once I send him off, without me having to maintain it. The horse understands that he wants to run and is not planning on slowing down, unless I ask him to. This is very high energy work.

This way, I can work in front of the horse directing him where to go. This is the first phase of working a horse that is completely trained at the lower levels of the Waterhole Rituals. It’s the advanced work of the last Waterhole Ritual, Liberty Dancing. I am sharing this with you at this time for the Insider Circle and Box Programs to show where the next phase of schooling begins. This is not part of your course, but … Read more

Today’s blog is a bit of a mixed bag of items I’d like to bring you.
The first is to say that after having some trouble getting access to my original Facebook page, we have had to set up a new one. This was a bit frustrating as I had nearly 500 fans and have now lost them all. So it would be great if you could visit the page and ‘Like’ me
You will find the page here:
Carolyn Resnick on Facebook
Speaking of Facebook, you can also give each my my blogs the Facebook Thumbs Up by clicking the little button at the top of each post.
Next I’d like to tell you about progress on my new book. The book is a detailed ‘how-to’ on my Method and I am currently working very hard to try and get it finished by the fall, which will hopefully mean publication sometime next year. In order to do this, what I’m thinking of do is bringing you regular excerpts from the Waterhole Rituals Insider Class on the Tuesday’s blog so you can learn from the participants and I will have more time for my book. I will of course continue … Read more

There are segments of time when things work out magically, and there are other times when chaos is present.
Today I was dealing with an upset on the ranch. Two horses had become very agitated with one another from having been switched to one another’s paddock. They worked themselves up so much that I was going to have to put them back in their original paddocks, because of the risks of them running around and getting hurt, as they were looking for a way to get to each other over the top of the fence. They got so wild we could see that we could hardly lead them back to their original homes, because they wanted to fight it out with one another and break away for being lead. Both horses have some unfinished training in regards to getting out of control when being lead in a time that they get angry with another horse. One is a stallion and the other is a tough gelding that exhibits behavior like a Stallion. He was the more difficult of the two.
The natural order of things is harmony, and if you let chaos go through its course, it will on its … Read more
