Lori’s article is a sample of the webzine articles that will be on the Waterhole Rituals in the near future. Lori is amazing with horses and teaching, it is her natural gift. Lori and I have been very close spending family holidays together, hanging out, and we both like to shop. Lori is my office manager and we work well together. She is like a daughter to me. She tells me that I have played a large part in the direction she has taken in her life. She is different than most daughters because she listens to my advice, and I am different than most mothers in that I do not offer advice unless she asks of it. We both can rely on each other’s support.
What to Expect in the First Edition of Good News For Horses™
The first opening article in the webzine will be in how to provide habitats for horses that bring them well being. The first article will be from Robin Gates and how she keeps her horses in a natural setting and how it influences their well-being. Robin and I have shared a lifetime together with horses, along with our spiritual evolution through … Read more

Thank you so much for sending in all of your ideas for the webzine! It looks like we are going to have a lot of articles on the Certified Clinicians and the readers! We are working on the outline right now. And for anyone who wants to add to this please email us at office@carolynresnick.comand put in the subject line: Article for Webzine.
I thought for today we would start with an article that could be found in the webzine. It is an article from one of my Certified Clinicians Lori Brown Smith. For those of you who don’t know Lori, she has been a student of mine for about 10 years. You may have heard me mention her about learning to Roman Ride, and she has reported that she is doing quite well on that subject! Lori is an accomplished mounted shooter and has multiple California state and world championships and is the 2005 CMSA Women’s World Rifle Champion.

She has ridden in the Tournament of Roses Parade for 12 years and performs in Wild West shows shooting sidesaddle. Her Friesian stallion Alger has a long list of accomplishments as well, and today we will hear … Read more

Hello All!
I am very excited that soon I will have a class which will allow me to get into the finer points of teaching, and to cover more details on the Waterhole Rituals™ that would not be appropriate for drop-ins and occasional curious visitors. Several people have been very unhappy about the proposed changes of my program. I think that what they are not taking into account is that my certified clinicians will be writing in the free webzine about the Waterhole Rituals and lessons that they are involved in. I expect and hope to have pictures from them as well as videos to enjoy and learn from. It will be very exciting for the readers to read about my certified clinicians, and to see their horses and home sights while you are still being coached in some form or another. When I do not have a blog from one of my students or readers on the subject of training with the Waterhole Rituals, I will write a blog for that month or put up one of the blogs from the archive I think would be appreciated.
Awareness Needed
What is important to me is that I have noticed … Read more

The journey with horses is a personal journey. For this reason, the Waterhole Rituals™ are the first step to meet the unique needs of each individual horse and human partnership. This was the mission of my online school for the past several years, and still is as we move forward into the future. We are growing the online school programs by offering more on-site support and classes this year. There is an increasing interest worldwide in developing a closer connection, partnership, and friendship with horses. The practical side of spending time to develop the Waterhole Rituals with your horse at liberty without tack before training a horse to perform is that it will shorten the overall training time, and improve the horse’s performance once he is trained. It is also easy to add the Waterhole Rituals to your existing program with your horse. If you do not have a training program, you can choose to work entirely on the relationship with your horse through the Waterhole Rituals.
Awakening the Performance
People are starting to see that the performance is best when the relationship is more important than the dance itself. Through this awareness, there is an awakening to life, and … Read more

Hello Everyone! Since winter is starting to pack its bags- at least in some parts of the world, I would like to start out with a fresh mindset and prepare for working with our horses that are coming out of winter break. I picked the Uberstreichen Exercises for the winter program for the horses, and for my bloggers because they are the easiest exercises to bring to the horses when winter puts us on a natural lay up and slow down. The exercises are like a soft snow. They create a quieting that matches the needs of a non-demanding program when it is very cold and the ground does not offer good footing.
Starting Fresh
Now that spring is rounding the corner, and our work areas are coming back to solid footing, we can now resume our dance that we had to set aside for the winter. We are all looking forward to more active activities with our horses. To get back to the dance, we must start back slowly, and remember that we must take the time to reconnect with our horses before we ask our horses to perform what they were performing the day before. And since we … Read more

Hello All!
I thought for today since we just finished up the Uberstreichen Exercises Class last Thursday, it would be a good day for a little springtime vacation! Lately, every time I have been outside I am pleasantly surprised by all of the new green grasses, spring wild flowers, and birds singing. I find this time of year so magical, even the way the sun shines on the bushes and trees seems to be in celebration. There is a fresh sweetness to the air from the orange trees in bloom. Seeing nature is always so refreshing, and I am thankful for the return of spring.
Out in the Pasture
Today I would like to share a little of my weekend. I went to visit a friend’s ranch, and at the end of a marvelous day looking for quartz crystals, and going on a wild flower safari hike, we finished off our day of springtime exploration on a large rock “island” in the middle of the pasture while her horses grazed. Sitting on top of a mountain, we could see for miles. The giant rocks that we sat on were smooth and curved like they were made to be sat … Read more

Second Annual Free Course, Winter 2011
Welcome to week 9!
Here is the last Uberstreichen Exercise.
Welcome!
This is our last free Uberstreichen Lesson for this year! I am so happy to hear all of the good results that were reported from the practice of the Uberstreichen Exercises. I am not going to cover the next series of exercises. The next series is just a repeating of what you have already done, but the horse must bend his head to the inside instead of just dropping his head straight down as you have been doing in each exercise. The reason I am not going to cover the next series is that much more practice needs to occur, and I find that to give the exercises ahead of time is not beneficial to the horse or to the student. If anyone wants to continue with the Uberstreichen Exercises, I can offer a coaching call privately or in a group depending on what the interest level is. Let me know if you do want to sign up for a group coaching call on the Uberstreichen Exercises. If we have a large enough interest, I will set up a date. The number of … Read more
