Today’s blog is a bit of a mixed bag of items I’d like to bring you.

The first is to say that after having some trouble getting access to my original Facebook page, we have had to set up a new one. This was a bit frustrating as I had nearly 500 fans and have now lost them all. So it would be great if you could visit the page and ‘Like’ me :)

You will find the page here:
Carolyn Resnick on Facebook

Speaking of Facebook, you can also give each my my blogs the Facebook Thumbs Up by clicking the little button at the top of each post.

Next I’d like to tell you about progress on my new book. The book is a detailed ‘how-to’ on my Method and I am currently working very hard to try and get it finished by the fall, which will hopefully mean publication sometime next year. In order to do this, what I’m thinking of do is bringing you regular excerpts from the Waterhole Rituals Insider Class on the Tuesday’s blog so you can learn from the participants and I will have more time for my book. I will of course continue to bring you new blogs on Thursdays with my latest thinking, so hope that’s OK with you.

That being said, here’s one question that came up I thought would be of great interest to all my readers………

I’m aware that time of day makes a huge difference to my horse’s reactions and interactions. I mainly get there after work in the evenings, but at weekends I see him all through the day and see the differences.

Secondly, my horse is not part of a herd that runs out together, although of course the other horses around him in his barn are his herd too. I don’t think he was in a herd for much more than the first year of his life, if that, actually, and he is now 15 (with me for four years).

I would like to hear you speak about this kind of horse and the differences it makes to how we start and continue with the Waterhole Rituals, if any.

Regarding your question I want you to work with your horse without this information. I want you to relate to your horse as he behaves not from your own point of view of him. This is where true learning can guide you better than information. What you are doing is training herd behavior into your horse. A horse that has not been exposed to herd interaction is missing out on how to conduct himself socially and you are teaching him how to get in touch with his instincts more clearly so he can more successfully fit in with you and other horses. I hope that helps.

To finish up today, I have a couple of questions for you and would love to read your comments below as usual. The questions are:

What does my Method mean to you?
and
What’s the biggest benefit you gain from the Waterhole Rituals?

It would be really helpful if you could try and sum up your answer to each question in 6 words or less in the Comments below.

Thank you and speak again on Thursday.

Carolyn

Your method, your reflections sharpen my perception not only of my horse but of everything, person, animal, plant around me, and let the love and well-being, I already have inside, but sometimes forget about, emerge.

In these moments – and they get more and more- I feel to be a better person, a free person and I feel I go back to my origins of who I am and how deeply I’m related to every living thing around me. Sharing territory is the strongest of all rituals for me, because, as you said in your post “allowing the drama to turn to harmony”, it reflects the harmony who is the “natural order of things”.
That post is one of your best for me.
