Hi again. I’ve been told that what I’m about to show to you today is the same thing the Star Wars guy did. In other words, this post should have come before the other one, Training horses by email (Apr 28).

Anyway, several of you have been asking what Stina’s horses were like when she took them in and she has in fact produced a video showing just that.

    Hello Carolyn and all,
It is hard to make any comment on what I just watched….My heart first sank and then sang. Simply “wonderful”, Stina…

Today I told the ‘amazing squirell’ story to my husband and my daughters and we all laughed so much…what a wonderful example that natural ability to learn is inside us all…

On the way home today I went by past a small horse ranch that I knew about but rarely went by, and seeing the horses in paddocks, I stopped and walked to look at them. Horses in the first two paddocks did not really take noticed but when I ambled to the third one, with two mares and two foals, one of the mares spotted me and from a distance fixed me with gaze, all alert about a stranger, and watched me as if to say ‘Who are you and what do you want here anyway?’ She stood still, observing me closely, while the foal was suckling her but when it stopped, she immediately and decisively started to march towards me. Directly. I looked straight back into her eyes and waited, but if it was not for the barriers of the paddock, I felt, she would walk straight into me. She got as far as she could, she stopped two steps away from me and her eyes demanded a reply to her question. I reached out and touched her nose gently for a hello and then, instantly started backing and walking away….but before I turned my gaze away I sensed amazing shift of energy, and saw how she raised her head and looked me satisfied: ‘Oh, it seems like this creature knows its manners. I guess she’s ok then…’
And the mare walked slowly away, relaxed and not bothered by my presence at all anymore…. Tiny, but very exciting experience…
