Hello there. Welcome to the new slot of Tuesdays for my blog posts, hope it doesn’t throw your rhythm off too far!
Today’s post features 2 questions from different people, who are both asking about the Waterhole Rituals, so I thought I’d put them together for you. The first one is from Becka in Washington and then the second comes from Stephani in Florida.

Hi. Before we get on to today´s blog post, I just wanted to say “thank you” to all the people who have been posting comments on my blog. Because of my work with horses, community is something that is very important to me and so to see our little community here growing is wonderful. I will endeavour to get back to you on any questions that are raised as we go along.
Right, today´s blog post is a question concerning how to handle a new foal and comes from Nancy who writes:
Hi Carolyn
I have your DVD on the Waterhole Rituals. I wondered if you could give me some tips on how to handle a new foal. We have a one week old foal who is so cute but he is already charging us, then turning and kicking out towards us and he is trying to nip. He is quite a handful. We aren’t sure what to do so he trusts us and wants to approach us but stop the inappropriate and potentially dangerous behavior. Also, is there anything you recommend teaching young foals?

One morning when I was walking, I met a large bobcat. We surprised each other at the end of a tree line path. We were about 15 feet apart. I was delighted to run across him as bobcats are elusive by nature. What amazed me was that he didn’t run, instead he appeared alarmed for only a second and then he accepted my presence and then joined me on my walk.
He was in a playful mood as we walked together and expressed it with a jaunty stride as he smelled plants and tussled around in the dust, leaping about catching invisible prey. He walked ahead then he waited for me to catch up with him. When I got ahead I waited for him. Eventually he lost interest and ambled into the distance across the dry riverbank. I have often wondered what his version of our story would be.

Hi. The story that I am going to share with you today is about a horse that you may have seen on some of my videos by the name of Panadero. He is an Andalusian Stallion and he is absolutely just the most expressive horse you could ever wish to meet.
Everyday that I went out to see him he would run up to me and we would play this game where we used to run along the fence of his paddock.
