It was so nice to be able to offer the free conference call on the U.E. Exercises and my free winter program. The U.E. exercises are a perfect thing to focus on for the winter month’s because it requires minimum activity and can be so easily adapted to doing several of the exercises from a stall or paddock.
It is so exciting to reach people from around the world and discover at last, people who are interested in bringing out the true nature of the horse and connecting with them through a personal bond, giving their horse freedom of choice, and a more than equal say in the partnership we share with them. It is also most important that the programs we offer to our horses and students are flexible enough to suit the conditions of the moment and the personalities and abilities of both the horse and their human. I feel I am doing something truly worth while and on the cutting edge for man’s humanitarian evolution.

Hello again. I love working with my horses. There isn’t anything much that I get so much pleasure out of, as you might have guessed. However, there one thing that thrills me almost as much and that is seeing my students succeed with their horses using my Method.
One of the students who continues to delight me and who is always very generous with her praise of me is Stina. For those of you who don’t know her story, she contacted me about 3 years ago asking if she could study with me. As she lives on St.Vincent in the Caribbean and I live in southern California, this was pretty tricky especially considering the horses she had recently ‘adopted’ were a herd of effectively wild horses. So she started having phone coaching with me and I must say that Stina has done a remarkable job with her herd. The results she and the horses have achieved are fabulous as you will see here and on the videos on the Coaching and Favorites pages.

On Tuesday I was speaking about using Core Energy with the first Waterhole Ritual, and I promised you a story. Before I start the story, I want to say that when the core is strong it is the blue print of who you are, and what you know and your intentions and a instant way to communicate with like minds. When cores communicate, there is a magnetic attraction.
I had a lovely gelding named Navarre and he loved people and did not like horses as a rule. One day Sutter, a beautiful palomino stallion, wild most all of his life arrived at my ranch who could talk from his core. When I took him out of the horse trailer all the horses were on alert. Because of the core energy both horses held, Navarre and Sutter clearly communicated with one another with no sounds, thoughts, or anything tangible. We all acknowledged that we were aware of their connection. I could tell that Navarre had a different feeling for Sutter than he had ever shown to any other horse. Hi and thank you for all your lovely stories, photo’s and videos from Tuesday about working with my Method. Sorry if I haven’t replied to you yet, I will try and get to you.
It is only natural when we learn something new to have many questions and I know how frustrating it is not to have these answered. As you start to work with the Waterhole Rituals therefore, I really want to support you and so I am thinking of putting together a program that will enable me to walk you through the Rituals and then answer any questions you may have as you go along. Hi. As you might have guessed, I’m a very practical person, I learn by doing. Utlimately though, we all must learn by doing as there is no alternative and this is especially true with horses. I do hope that you enjoy watching my DVDs and reading my book but I have to tell you that unless you get out there and put them into practise, you will never know what sort of results you might get.

Hello again. Thank you so much for all your wonderful comments about my plans for a school. Of course, its early days and we need to find the funding to make it all happen but your kind words are very encouraging.
Today, I want to share a story with you that was sent in by Katie from northern California. Katie’s story just shows what can be done if you just go out and follow what’s in my book and in my DVD’s. You will see how much and how fast her relationship with her horse, Picasso, changed just by doing these simple Rituals. She also has a similar success with a couple of wild paint colts she was hired to gentle.

When training a horse, there is always a gap between the theoretical and the practical and this can be very frustraing . My advice for this is pretty much always that more time is needed. I can’t overstate the beautiful simplicity of the first Ritual as a preparation for the rest.
So, today’s blog post features a question by one of my loyal readers Norman, who writes:
I have been having trouble with the Rituals. My horses just aren’t reacting as I expected. During the first Ritual, my pony won’t come up to me again after I move the chair away. I can’t sneak up on any of them for the third Ritual. They always seem to be aware of everything around them. Should I chase them anyway? They never stop when I stop during the fourth Ritual. I don’t know how long I should keep walking after them. I don’t want them to resent me because I’m doing it wrong. Your Method is exactly what we need, it’s just frustrating that I can’t do it right.
