Today I want to tell you a story about one man and his horse. This story sort of suggests that not everyone should ride a horse. Certain people can certainly ride no problems but Webster was not one of them and I think you’ll understand why when I tell you his story.
Well, Webster had two horses, one was a pony and other was a nice older horse. He’d had lots of failures with riding the pony and this one time had got thrown off onto the pavement and hurt himself quite badly. In fact, every time he seemed to get on a horse, he seemed to get thrown off. So, we decided that what he needed to do was ride the older horse so nothing would happen to him because that mare never did anything wrong, just never.

Hi. Well I hope you liked the audio on Monday, I can’t tell you how exciting it is for me to hear my book come to life through Liz’s voice.
We’ve also put together some more video of Panadero so you can see his progress. It’s interesting to see how far he has come in such a short time. He stops so nicely, both at liberty and under saddle. He’s such a wonderful horse too, so full of spirit, so full of youth and still full of stallion energy.

Hello. Time for another question. This one is from Jackie in New Mexico who wrote:
I have just started working with horses and have two colts both going on one year. I have had them about eight months. I am told by most everyone I talk to that I would not be able to work with this horse if I do not get him gelded. I do not want to get him gelded but will it be that hard if I don’t get him gelded?

Dear Jackie
There are four reasons why you would geld:
1) It can be inhumane to leave some horses as stallions because living by our standards can be abusive without our even realizing the unfair lifestyle we expect them to tolerate. For example, some stallions cannot accept not having their freedom to do as they would choose. Some can be highly aggressive and you can’t get their attention on anything but what they want to focus on. If you have a stallion with a super aggressive nature, in time he will become more than you can handle.
