Hi. I was asked the other day if I could sum up what my Method, DVDs and courses are all about and what makes me different to other horse trainers. So I sat down and tried to condense my philosophy into a few sentences, which wasn’t so easy! Anyway, please find below what I wrote, I hope it resonates with you.

Before we get to that though, I have a small survey it would be great if you could complete so as to give us some feedback. It’s very easy, just check one of the choices and click vote. Thank you.

    Dear Liz,
I will be in Ojai on the 15 and 16 of November to work with a few your colts and Stallions. Maybe you would like to audit that event.
I remember meeting you. I think your interest is dressage, which is mine as well. Looking forward to working with you in the future.

Carolyn, I met you at Alessandra’s “race horse” event.
I came down from Thousand Oaks. I wanted to see in person what you and your work with horses was about. It was not only a pleasure to meet you but also a pleasure to meet some of the other people attending the event. How wonderful it was to find people that share the same sense of what it means to have a relationship with a horse.
Did you notice the big sigh of relief? :-)
I hope to learn more soon.

    Dear Carol,
The fires have been here as well. It sounds like you are still OK.
It means a lot to me that you are still getting value form my book.
Take care and give Doolie a carrot for me and send him my best.
Thank you for your plug on my book and DVDs.

Thank you, Carolyn, for sharing your wisdom with us. What you inherently know is what we are all trying to learn. We’ve had terrible wildfires in our area lately, and while most neighbors are glued to the TV for fire updates, I’ve been re-reading your book. I’ve found that your words are far more compelling to me than watching our hills burn. Your unique ability to pay attention to the tiniest of details no doubt contributes to your remarkable relationship with horses. Your training method is effective, respectful, and kind. Every last person who reads your book or watches your DVDs will benefit from your expertise and passion. I don’t always have time to add a comment on your blog, but I always learn from what you have to say–and much of the time, I end up with goose bumps! Thanks again. –Carol

    Dear Carolyn,

Your wonderful description of the Carolyn Resnick Method creates beautiful, realistic images of what it is like to live in harmony with horses! Thank you for your wise, compassionate words. I especially like what you said about learning how to become inviting to your horse, without force or dominance. My horse Romeo continues to teach me how to become more and more sensitive to his needs, especially how to become a quiet, confident leader in our herd of two. He has shown me that if I slip back into some of the more agressive, ego-based training techniques I was taught before I met you, he will disconnect from me. He is far more willing to be with me, work in harmony with me and give me his heart when I am an inviting, interesting and intelligent partner who respects his sentient nature and his wise soul. Your method continues to help me in so many areas of my life; spiritualy, emotionally, mentally and physically. Romeo and I both thank you!

    Much love,

    Debra

    Hi Carolyn,
Just you being able to explain your method using economy of words, shows what a great communicator you are, with humans, and horses.
The essence of your method is completely there.
I used to be very ashamed that my horse didn’t want to be with me, but now, when I become aware of feelings like this, I know that it is not authentically me, and I am asking myself, ‘what is the lesson here, what am I resisting in myself that is prompted when I am around my horse, and she rejects me?’
Sometimes, at the moment when I become aware, she is then open to my leadership.
    sincerely, Marion
