The Carolyn Resnick Academy of Horsemanship
Apprenticeship Bit-less Dressage Program Overview
Due to many equestrians looking for a training program in dressage that sees the horse as a sentient being and presents training in the classical tradition of long-lining -- here it is.
All the blog readers will benefit from this program as well because Carolyn intends to share much of the school with you through her blogs. The Academy bit-less apprenticeship program begins March 1st.
“The best part of life can be felt from the back of a horse when you are truly bonded together from the relationship you build from the ground.” This feeling is what the Academy brings alive in the students. The students gain a deep connection with the horses from the interactions that occur following the curriculum in each level of the apprenticeship program.
The three-month apprentice program is a certification course in bit-less dressage using the Carolyn Resnick Method. The goal of the course is to teach students how to train a horse from the ground in long-lining classes to develop a dressage horse under saddle. The students will then be coached in how to ride the horse they have trained to perform three speeds of walk, trot, and canter under saddle in a first-level frame.
The student trainers will then take the information and training they have learned during the program and train their own horse in the same way, after they have finished the 3-month course. The student will not be certified at the end of the 3-month program. For certification, the student will need to be evaluated by Carolyn through video testing once they have accomplished training their own horse to first level dressage, after leaving the 3-month program.
This Certification will enable the student trainer, as a professional, to share your knowledge with others in the Carolyn Resnick Method for bit-less dressage. This certification does not include the ability to do clinics in the “Waterhole Rituals.” Once you are certified, if you are interested in giving clinics in bit-less dressage, you will need to advertise. For an annual fee, the Academy will bring your work into visibility in the equestrian world by spotlighting your videos as they relate to your own programs and articles that you have written.
Apprentices who come to study for one month, and do not take the whole course, will receive a certificate of completion stating that you have completed 30 days of the bit-less course and have received a well-rounded foundation in the groundwork needed to start bit-less dressage. The 30-day certificate of completion does not certify students to instruct in the Carolyn Resnick Method.
To qualify for the program you need to have be a horse trainer with a basic background in dressage, and/or have a background starting a horse under saddle, and/or be an experienced trail rider with training experience. Carolyn will review all qualified application videos and accept only the top 4 students per month.
Carolyn is offering this course for two years only--2015 and 2016. This is your chance to work directly with the master. For more information please email the office at email@example.com.
Have a great weekend! Be on the lookout for new horse and human sightings and may the horse be with you.
